Overview

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California San Francisco, invites you to attend its annual Neurosurgery Update course. The course will be held at the Silverado Resort and Conference Center in Napa, California July 31 – August 2, 2024. The program endeavors to provide the latest updates and recent advances in the field of neurosurgery. Neurosurgeons, neurosurgery residents, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, and other allied health professionals can benefit from this program in the treatment of neurosurgical problems. Now in its seventeenth year, it will cover the entire spectrum of neurosurgical topics.

Objectives

An attendee completing this course will be able to:

  • Incorporate into practice the latest surgical techniques in the management of minimally-invasive spinal disorders;
  • Improve the management of brain tumors using the most up-to-date data and studies;
  • Recognize and understand the nuances of pain management in spinal disorders and treat accordingly;
  • Improve patient outcomes through medical and surgical management of pituitary disorders;
  • Provide modern management of cerebrovascular disorders based on the most current data;
  • Use modern management techniques in the treatment of neurotrauma and overcome barriers to care in underserved minority communities
  • Use evidence-based data in performing pediatric neurosurgery.
